Ravnica: Clue Edition offers Magic: The Gathering players a unique multiplayer innovation as a Draft Innovation set, blending Jumpstart-style half-deck assembly with Clue deduction in a Ravnica murder mystery setting. Designed as an annex to Murders at Karlov Manor, the product features eight 20-card boosters themed around Ravnica's ten guilds, with two variations per guild. Players select two boosters and shuffle them together to create a ready-to-play 40-card deck, enabling quick setup for 2–5 player multiplayer games of Magic: The Gathering.

New Mechanics and Design Space Explored

This set explores fresh design space by integrating board game deduction directly into Magic: The Gathering gameplay. Before play, one suspect, weapon, and room card are secretly placed in a case file envelope from the 21 Evidence cards. These Evidence cards are fully playable Magic cards: legendary creatures representing suspects, artifacts as weapons, and lands as rooms. During the game, dealing combat damage to an opponent allows a player to make a Suggestion, gathering information to narrow down the solution. Players can also make an Accusation on their turn to attempt solving the mystery as an alternative win condition alongside eliminating opponents through standard Magic combat.
