Aetherdrift Commander Introduces Two Thematic Precons for Magic: The Gathering Commander
Aetherdrift Commander delivers two ready-to-play preconstructed decks for Magic: The Gathering's Commander format, released February 14, 2025 alongside the main Aetherdrift set. These decks expand the set's interplanar racing theme by leaning into Avishkar's energy technology and Amonkhet's undead legions, giving Commander players thematic, out-of-the-box options that integrate with the Ghirapur Grand Prix narrative. Whether you prefer explosive artifact value or resilient zombie swarms, each 100-card deck includes new cards and reprints tuned for multiplayer tables.
Living Energy
Living Energy is the Green-Blue-Red precon from Aetherdrift Commander, led by face commander Saheeli, Radiant Creator. This Temur deck's color identity is green, blue, and red. The core strategy generates energy counters whenever you cast Artificer or artifact spells, then spends energy to fuel artifact creatures, thopters, constructs, and value engines. Saheeli also lets you pay three energy at the beginning of combat to copy a permanent as a hasty 5/5 artifact creature token. At the table it plays as a value engine that ramps quickly into explosive turns, building board presence through tokens and copied threats rather than direct aggression—ideal if you enjoy artifact synergies and incremental advantage that snowballs mid-to-late game.
Eternal Might
Eternal Might is the White-Blue-Black precon from Aetherdrift Commander, commanded by face commander Temmet, Naktamun's Will. This Esper deck's color identity is white, blue, and black. The core strategy is zombie tribal supported by discard, loot, and Amonkhet mechanics such as eternalize. Temmet loots on attack and grants your zombies +1/+1 for each card you draw, while the featured commander Hashaton, Scarab’s Fist creates token copies when you discard creature cards. The deck leverages recursion and token generation to build a wide board. Piloting this precon feels like a combat-focused midrange swarm: generate zombies, grow them through card flow and discards, then overwhelm with relentless pressure and resilient threats—perfect if you want an aggressive horde that rewards consistent attacks and graveyard play.
