Five mighty dragon broods—Dromoka, Ojutai, Silumgar, Kolaghan, and Atarka—dominate the continents, each commanding a faction of loyal followers including humans, orcs, and other races. The plane’s former clan structure has been reshaped into draconic hierarchies, with vast territories under the direct rule of the dragonlords.
The Conflict on Tarkir
In the story of Dragons of Tarkir, planeswalker Sarkhan Vol returns from the past after saving the ancient dragon spirit Ugin, permanently altering Tarkir’s history. The dragons have triumphed over the clans that once hunted them, establishing a new world order. The narrative explores the reigns of the five dragonlords and the tensions within their broods as they consolidate power and navigate the consequences of the changed timeline.
