Ravnica Allegiance is set on Ravnica, the sprawling city-plane in Magic: The Gathering that serves as home to ten powerful guilds. In the story of Ravnica Allegiance, the fragile peace between the guilds is strained to its breaking point as the threat of Nicol Bolas looms. Planeswalkers aligned with Bolas take control of key guilds: Dovin Baan influences the Azorius, Domri Rade leads the Gruul, and Kaya assassinates the Obzedat to assume control of the Orzhov. Tensions rise as guilds prepare for conflict, with story spotlight events including Kaya's actions against the Orzhov and other guild power struggles that foreshadow the larger invasion to come.
The Mechanical and Flavor Identity of Ravnica Allegiance
Ravnica Allegiance completes the guild-focused return to Ravnica in Magic: The Gathering, emphasizing guild loyalty and politics.
