Vampire and Spirit Horror in Magic: The Gathering Crimson Vow Commander

Magic: The Gathering's Crimson Vow Commander released November 19, 2021 with two ready-to-play preconstructed decks themed around Innistrad's gothic horror. Commander players should care because these decks arrive fully assembled with new cards, strong reprints, and clear upgrade paths, letting you sit down for multiplayer games right out of the box while exploring vampire aggression or spirit tribal synergy.

Spirit Squadron

Spirit Squadron is led by its face commander Millicent, Restless Revenant in a blue-white color identity. The deck focuses on Spirit tribal with an emphasis on creating and attacking with flying Spirit tokens. Whenever you cast Spirit spells or attack with Spirits, Millicent generates additional flying tokens, turning every combat step into a growing swarm. At the table it plays as a combat-focused token strategy that pressures opponents with evasive attackers while using Spirit synergies for card draw and recursion. Expect to build a wide board of flyers that overwhelm in the air, making it a strong choice if you enjoy go-wide aerial combat and incremental value engines in casual Commander games.

Vampiric Bloodline

Vampiric Bloodline is led by its face commander Strefan, Maurer Progenitor in a black-red color identity. The deck is built around Vampire tribal and Blood tokens, using the tokens to cheat larger Vampires directly onto the battlefield already attacking. Strefan triggers whenever you attack with a Vampire, creating Blood tokens that fuel further cheats and aggressive plays. At the table it plays as a combat-focused, aggressive midrange strategy that ramps into big threats early and maintains pressure through sacrifice and drain effects. It rewards players who like fast starts, board presence, and turning small Vampires into overwhelming forces, making it ideal for those who want a Rakdos deck that feels explosive yet straightforward to pilot in multiplayer.
