The Story of the Crimson Vow

Continuing directly from the events of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, the plane remains plunged in eternal night. The central conflict revolves around the opulent wedding between Olivia Voldaren, leader of the Voldaren bloodline, and Edgar Markov, the ancient founder of the Markov vampire lineage. Olivia aims to forge a powerful alliance through this union to seize control over all of Innistrad. Planeswalkers including Arlinn Kord, Teferi, Kaya, and Chandra become involved as they work to counter the vampires' growing dominance.

Mechanical and Flavor Identity

Innistrad: Crimson Vow embraces a strong vampiric identity through both flavor and mechanics. The set introduces Blood tokens, which vampires use for feeding and divination, along with the new Cleave mechanic on instants and sorceries and the Training ability for human forces. It continues Daybound and Nightbound for werewolves and features Disturb on spirit cards, creating a cohesive atmosphere of aristocratic undeath and gothic decadence centered on the lavish yet sinister wedding celebration.
